Magic Breaks

Magic Breaks - Ilona Andrews QUIT WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD....

This was what i thought after i finished the last Kate Daniels installment. This was one of my favorite series, until last novel, that is. Magic Rises just didn't live up to the standards of Kate Daniels series, and sadly, was the first indication that the story hit a wall. In my heart i have hoped that is just a bump in the road and the writing duo will inspire us again with Magic Breaks. It didn't happen.

Kate was bland, the story was one dimensional, the action diluted, and on the giggle scale - i didn't laugh a single time.

I was actually bored reading this. Something i would have never dreamed of saying about Kate Daniels series. I will stick to my view from Magic Rises, Kate should have dumped Curran, she spent the majority of this novel alone anyway, and the authors could have used his groveling as an new emotional angle to this story. Like this, it was simply too goodie-goodie to impress me. Bubbles, rainbows, and glittering hearts aplenty follow the perfect couple and the Scooby Gang. It came to the point where neither one of them can do any wrong, everything they do is perfect, thy win every fight....it's predictable, and anticlimactic. The Disney ending didn't help any, either....
